Die Architekten

The Architects
Film excerpt
1990

Daniel Brenner
What's wrong with your eyes?

Colleague
I denied the problem too long. Cataracts have pecked out my eyes. If I am real lucky, I'll be able to distinguish light and dark.

Daniel
I can't manage if you quit too.

Colleague
Sure you will... I am through with balance sheets and real estate reserves. Life has more to offer. Touching, feeling, tasting. Seeing with one's ears. People have many senses.

Daniel
I'd give you an eye.

Colleague
No, Daniel! There are enough one-eyed architects. I have seen clearer since I closed my eyes. One-eyed architects only see what they want to see.
