Light + Shadow in Architecture

Currently, I am having my students look at Light and Shadow in Architecture as a way to explore spatial/formal relationships and sensorial expressions. As part of this exploration my students are looking at various built works that demonstrate the effects of light and shadow on our built environment. This got me thinking and I have gathered together a sampling of photos that I have taken throughout the past few years that I feel demonstrate some interesting qualities of light using tecture, layering, screening, obscuring, filtering, saturation, etc...

New Session Course for Spring 2011

Recently I received approval to teach an Indian Architecture course during the Spring semester at the University of Utah. Currently, the only non-western courses being taught are Japanese and Pre-Columbian. I am very excited about this opportunity to expand the architectural history curriculum at the U! Here is a sampling of the posters that I will be using to promote the course.
